Instagram stories are it. It seems like every month or so now, they're adding a new feature or button to make the platform even more exciting than it already is, and my prediction is that it will continue on this route to fame.
Each feature provides either a certain amount of reach or excitement per post; tagging people gives the opportunity for others to share your masterpiece, location pinning adds the story to that area's story and hashtagging can even help your story reach new audiences. Not every button provides the opportunity for higher reach, but they do provide the chance to catch a viewers eye.
GIFs are the seemingly most obvious example of that as the doing nothing other than making a story look fun, but I think it's in the very art of mastering eye-catching stories that lie in the successful profiles.
Most recently, the "music" feature has been updated to not only add a track behind your photo or video but also to add lyrics.
As seen above in the video, adding music and lyrics is really easy and a fun way to make yourself stand out. The process is simple, and editing options are available.
If you slide between the photos above, you can see the search bar for finding the song, the scrolling to find the specific lyric and a couple of the visual options for displaying the song/lyric.
While this tool might seem elementary in its benefits, I think it's a beautifully simple way of catching your audience's attention and engaging them in something that they would have otherwise clicked away.
