Augmented Realty in Product Visualization

Let's get to the point: augmented realty is, quite literally, changing the way consumers view, consider and purchase products by making them virtually accessible from universally anywhere.
Most commonly and recently, this new feature is used in demonstrating pieces of furniture in your home. Companies like Wayfair allow you to photograph your room and place the desired piece of furniture in a virtual reality to see if you would like what it looks like there. But the magic doesn't stop there.
Virtual placement is cool, sure, but what's even cooler is an integration that allows you to very quickly purchase any product you're able to view. Magicplan creates a virtual floor plan of any room you choose by placing pins in the corners to create a quick and accurate measurement of the area. Here's the cool part: there's an Amazon integration in the system that allows you to purchase said products directly from the app. Now that's utilizing AR in product visualization to the max.
Even cooler part: it doesn't stop at furniture.

Recently, L'Oreal brought a virtual try-on technology to their lipstick line so that consumers can use selfies and videos to see how they look in the different shades. They use a subsidiary called ModiFace, which tracks facial features for makeup simulations. In addition to all the information provided by L'Oreal and images/descriptions of products on social media, the simulation is said to have "highly accurate 3D facial micro-tracking." Above you can see a product from their website with an option to actually try on the lipstick.
