Social Curator was launched in 2017 and has had over 5,000 members in the past year. People can subscribe monthly, annually or purchase individual issues. They also receive master classes and a private Facebook Group for members only.

All this for just $25 a month. Although you don’t have to use everything each month, it is a package deal and items (i.e. a single photo or single caption) cannot be sold separately.

How is this different from other tools?

Social Curator is the only service that provides new stock photos every month along with captions and a comprehensive guide to ensure you have a social media plan. Most companies only offer stock photos, and those are usually for triple the price.

How might a brand use it?

Any brand on Instagram needs to have a consistent flow of content, but it’s hard to constantly create it. Social Curator would provide those will the tools they need to have an effective Instagram without all the hard work that usually goes into it.

It also allows the brand to plan their content for a month at a time, which is what Jasmine suggests doing too. Usually she’ll take multiple potential pictures in one day and use them for a long period of time. This tool would essentially do the same thing for a brand.

Where does the content come from?

Jasmine and her team shoot, select and edit the photos for Social Curator every month. She said her inspiration comes from nature, her travels and holidays.

The caption templates she has created have also been tested. She said after creating content as an entrepreneur for a decade, she’s noticed what her followers respond to.

The caption prompts are fill-in-the-blank, and the purpose is to encourage members to open up about who they are. Jasmine said that creates trust, and trust inspires transactions.

The action plans are more like lesson plans with guest contributors. They’re beautifully laid out PDFs on “how to” be more captivating. Each issue of Social Curator has a theme. For example the latest issue (#10) is all about Why Good Copy Matters on Social Media. 

What are some Con’s of this tool?

You can’t buy just the captions or just the photos or just the action plan; it’s a package deal. But if you can spare $25 a month, it definitely seems worth it.

What are some Pro’s of this tool?

The biggest pro is that Jasmine herself is creating everything.

Why is it important to have high-quality, well-branded Instagram pages?

Instagram was designed to be visual.

It can be a powerful selling tool if you do ii right, and a beautifully branded Instagram page is a joy to scroll through. You’ll se cohesive colors and style that make you want to smile.

Jasmine gives a few tips for people not sure how to do this:

1. Choose your style. Are you colorful? Earthy? Trendy?

2. Use high quality images. iPhone 6 or up is good if you don’t have a fancy camera.

3. Try not to have too many selfies in a row to vary content. Alternate photos of people with quotes. Sprinkle in video or try Instagram stories.
